In this week’s video I am sharing the recipe for some nutritious brownies – nutritious because the main ingredient is a tin of beans!! Yes BEANS! Check it out…and full instructions are also detailed below!
Below are the ingredients and method, but watch the video for the full explanation and some hints and tips!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 tin black beans (400g), drained and rinsed
- 125g peanut butter
- 80g honey or maple syrup
- Juice and grated rind of 1 orange
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 100g dark chocolate broken into chips
How It’s Done:
- Preheat oven to 180° celsius
- Put everything except the chocolate chips into a food processor and mix for a good few minutes (the mixture will never be really ‘smooth’!)
- Then just add in the chips at the end and mix for another few seconds
- Put the mixture in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and bake for about 18-20 minutes
- When you take the brownies from the oven they will still be quite wet in the middle so leave them to cool for a while in the tray before cutting
- When you cut them store them in a container in the fridge
