Eat Chia Seeds!
Not just because they’re trendy at the mo, ok?! But because they’re actually really good for you. As well as containing fibre (for good digestion) and protein (to help your body repair and keep you fuller for longer), they are one of the best non-fish sources of Omega-3 which we need for a healthy brain and heart.
- One tablespoon a day is enough! Personally, I think they taste how they look – grey! For this reason, and also the fact that they are dry, hard and absorb a lot of water, it is best to combine them with a liquid (and make sure you are drinking enough water!)
- Throw them into a juice or smoothie, or mix them into yoghurt, porridge or overnight oats
- A tablespoon of chia seeds mixed with 3 tablespoons of water can be used to replace an egg in baking
Let me know how you like your chia seeds!
