December’s ‘Mind Yourself’ Tips

By Lisa Dunbar | Blog | 0 comment | 31 December, 2020 | 2

Drink Sensibly
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a few tipples now and then (or even a bit more during the silly season!), but alcohol is often used as a way of dealing with stress. However, the relief is short-term and ALWAYS followed by a worse-than-when-you-started feeling because of the way alcohol affects our body and brain. So try exploring some healthier ways of de-stressing! Above are the Drink Aware guidelines for alcohol intake.

Place Less Value on “Stuff”
At this time of year it’s easy for us to go a bit mad and start buying all around us! But “stuff” does not make us truly happy. Sure, we might get a bit of a short-term buzz, but it doesn’t last! Research shows that EXPERIENCES make us much happier than possessions ever could, so try to focus less on the stuff and more on having positive experiences this Christmas!
