This glossy red fruit (yes, FRUIT!) contains lots of water and vitamins such as Vitamin A (for healthy skin and good eyesight) and Vitamin C (for a strong immune system). Tomatoes are also particularly well known for containing a disease-fighting antioxidant called lycopene which acts like a sort of mop, mopping up the harmful free radicals in our bodies!
- Have one on its own, or with a little basil, olive oil and mozzarella cheese
- Add them to salads, sandwiches, wraps
- Use them to make tomato sauces for pasta, or add them to other pasta dishes
- Roast them with some peppers, courgette and red onion
