Because they are a great, cheap source of protein (that thing that’s important for All OF US, not just body builders)! Protein helps our bodies grow, repair and recover from the daily wear and tear of being a human. Chickpeas also contain lots of fibre (for healthy digestion) and various other vitamins and minerals to help our bodies work at their best.
- Dry chickpeas that you soak yourself are great, but tinned chickpeas are still very nutritious and much more convenient. Just drain them and give them a good rinse
- Add them to soups, stews, curries, salads
- Buy or make your own hummus dip or falafels
- Fry or roast them in a little oil and seasoning for a tasty snack!
